'Cat' was my first image of my cheeky cat, inspired by my own 5 cats all with their own unique characters. It sold out but the image is still available on greeting cards and coasters. It was later followed by 'Psst!', 'Licking Paw Cat' (or 'bathtime' as I like to call it sometimes) and recently followed by 'No Way Jose' (pronounced 'hosay') for fairly obvious reasons when you study his expression, an image inspired by some of my own cats' stubbornness when they refuse to listen to me no matter how many times I tell them.
Cats move with stealth, silently watching everything around them very carefully. It makes me laugh to watch the effort they make to creep up undetected (or so they believe as I watch) and then finally pounce on a felt mouse toy or similar inanimate object, behaviour inherited from their big cat cousins they find hard to shake off. ‘On The Prowl’ depicts this behaviour as Cat goes out on the prowl looking for something to amuse himself, moving quietly and constantly watching his back!.
I love cats and with 4 of my own I love to watch them play together and see their different personalities come out as they get up to all sorts of mischief. This image depicts 'Cat' and an unknown friend clearly up to some kind of mischief as cats often are. Perhaps talking about a new place to hide, some new furniture to sharpen their claws on, something to chase. Who knows what their secret is?
