Monoprinting is a way of producing spontaneous one off prints with quick exciting results. One technique involves drawing on the back on paper which has been placed directly onto a smooth inked
surface, giving the image a beautiful quality to the line. A second technique starts with a plate that is cut to size to fit the bed of the etching press, that is then inked up in various ways
using different colours, textured material and then is hand pulled through an etching press using printmaking paper. The results can be very exciting.
