Lucy Gell. Illustrator. Printmaker.
An image of Lucy Gell at work I studied illutration at Staffordshire University. After college I worked as a puppet maker for Mackinnon and Saunders. I made puppets for television commericals, Cosgrove Hall Films and life size martians for Tim Burton's film Mars Attacks. After a life long love of animation, at the end of 1997 I became a puppet animator for Cosgrove Hall Films. Programmes I worked on include Postman Pat, Andy Pandy and Little Robots. I enjoy the process of creating the different textures with etching and the bold impact of screenprinting. Most of all it's about adding the humour and character to my images.
